"The following data refer to the crew of the DAMZICHT as well as to the crews of the HUIS OM (see 4001), the HUIS TER MEIJEN (4002), the BOVENKERKER POLDER (4005), the KRONENBURG (4007), and the JONGE LIEVE (4008): 1584 seafarers, 780 soldiers, 89 craftsmen, and 10 passengers departed from the Republic or embarked at the Cape; 1090 seafarers, 435 soldiers, 57 craftsmen, and 9 passengers arrived at Batavia.
